The Artist
Empty Studio, run by multidisciplinary artist Matt Torr in Tamaki Mākaurau, focuses on the repetitive actions of daily life. Through various mediums, M.T captures these moments, offering a fresh perspective on their significance. Inspired by the structure of recipes, he breaks down these actions into 'ingredients,' which he rearranges to explore new interpretations. This distinctive approach invites a reconsideration of the importance of everyday activities and their associated objects, providing a fresh lens on the familiar.
